Its always known that new people will confuse with the features of the blogs. Mainly the difference between a Blog Post and a Blog Page. I have listed the most need to know difference that a blogger should know before he/she blogs the article.
Page Properties:
- Pages are static entities. They are not listed in your Home Page. You can link to a PAGE in your BLOG. Since they are static so they don't associate date with them. So you cannot see a page created date when you create it.
- Always use page for static entities which doesn't change often. These are individual contents that should be accessed through your blog post. Refer these pages in your blog post whenever you need its content.
- Pages can be your own page or it is external link. So you can decide type of page you want at the time of page creation.
- The root element for the PAGE is BLOG POST. User can reach to a PAGE only through the BLOG POST.
- Pages should always be used as resources. Not as a publication.( Just like a Function in a Dynamic Linking Library).
- Search will always take to your blog post and not the Page. There is no option to associate labels to the pages.
- You can create up to 20 pages per post as mentioned in the google support blog
- Posts are your publication. Whatever you want to express, can express here. Its content are published in the public domain when you hit publish button. You can keep editing your publication as and when you have something to update to it.
- You can publish as many post as you want in your blog.
- All the blogs are archived on descending order of date. So the latest post will be in the home page and the older will be archived based on the month/date/day. You can configure it in the way you want in Templates -> Customize screen.
- You can label your Post so that user can be brought to the page based on the google search key words.
- You can link pages in your post.
